Minutes of January 14, 2014 Meeting

Meeting was held at Holly Tree. Before dinner, Don Warmuth, Vice President, called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the December 10th meeting were read and approved.

Visitors Maurice Sullivan, Phillip Waddel and Richard Howiler were recognized.

Greg Kyzer gave the Governor’s report. There are no Carolina region events currently scheduled. Events are scheduled in Florida and Nashville.

Debbie Haskell gave the treasurer’s report. There is $x,xxx.39 in checking and $x,xxx.19 in savings.

Club jackets were discussed and orders were taken.

Nametags for club members were discussed. A motion was made to order them for all members and pay with club funds and then be reimbursed. A vote was taken and the motion carried.

The club participation in the International Auto Show was discussed.

The January event will be trap shooting at the Clinton Plantation. The date will actually be February 1st. Meet at the Cracker Barrel in Simpsonville at 8:30.

The February event is Medieval Times in Atlanta. Steve and Brenda will coordinate details. 16 or more are needed to get group rates.

The March event will be the club Banquet on the 22nd and the Embassy Suites is the preferred location.

A discussion was held on the officer changeover occurring at the first of the year. The club by-laws may need to be clarified to clearly state this.

There was a tie in the Lowery award voting. Any members present who had not previously voted were allowed to vote in an effort to break the tie.

The 2014 NCCC convention will be in Savannah. Registration starts February 1st.

Discussion was held about possibly holding the club autocross in early May.

Hi Everyone,

Here's the meeting recap from last night's meeting. I have to apologize but apparently I have some presidential senioritis because I took some really lousy notes. Anyway, here's what I did get.

Trap Shooting is being planned by Emil with a spa day side event being organized for the women. The event will be February 1st and will begin by meeting for breakfast at the Simpsonville Cracker Barrel. Then the guys will go trap shooting and the women will go have a spa day. Emil estimates the trap shooting will be about $25 per person although it could be more if you need to rent additional guns or if everyone wants to get a golf cart. That's all I got on that but I'm sure an email with more details will be coming soon.
Medieval Times trip is being planned by Brenda for March 1st and will be the 2:30 show. I missed the departure time but the place is down near Atlanta so expect it to be a few hours before that. She sent an email with a bunch of information the other day and I'm sure even more will be coming soon.
Club Banquet is on March 22nd at the Embassy Suites in Greenville so mark your calendar. The tentative plan is to meet at the bar around 6:30pm and then head into the banquet room to being the banquet at 7pm. All like last year. More details to come.
Joe asked about interest in seeing a show at the Fountain Inn theater in April and will be looking into getting more information about that for the next meeting.
Brenda brought up the idea of doing a hibachi dinner night get together just for fun some night. She sent an email about it last night so if you want to do that then let her know.
And we decided there is a precedent for the officers changing in January so Don is now officially the new president and will be conducting all the meetings from here on out.
