February 2013 Meeting Minutes

Minutes of February 12, 2013 Meeting

Meeting was held at J Peters Bar and Grill on Market Point Drive.   Following dinner, Blair Collins, President, called the meeting to order.

The minutes of the January 8, 2013 meeting were read and approved.   

Visitors Leo Mataranglo, Scott Doting, Barry, Michelle and Hunter Benordner, Valerie and Don Daniels and Ed Myer and Calob were recognized.
 
Greg Kyzer gave the Governor’s report.   No Carolina region events are scheduled.  There is a possibility of having a regional banquet but no date is set.
 
Debbie Haskell gave the treasurer’s report.  There is $xxxx.38 in checking and xxxx.94 in savings.  $1000 was given to the upstate warrior group.

The January 19th bowling event was discussed. 

The SC International Auto Show of January 11th to 13th was discussed.

The upcoming club Banquet was discussed.  No date has been set but March 16 is the preference.

On March 23rd, there will be Barbeque and car show as a fund raiser at the Tomassee DAR school.  Don and Ann Warmuth provided the details.  Event will be from 10 to 2.  Meet at the DAR thrift store at 9:30.

A dinner and theater event will be scheduled for April 20th.

There will be a car show hosted by Rutherford County Corvettes on April 27th at McNair Field.  Registration is from 8 to 12.

Dave Urke will be at the March meeting to provide details on the 2014 Caravan to the Corvette Museum.

Possible future events discussed were a wine tour in May and a Lake Keowee outing in June.

Hi Everyone,

Here are the highlights from last nights meeting.

• 2014 Caravan guest speaker will be here in March so be at the meeting if you want to get all the juicy details on that.
• Club Banquet will be 3/16 at the Embassy Suites in Greenville.  
• Tamasee School Charity Cruise will be 3/23.  Meet at the DAR Thrift Store on hwy 11 at 9:30 am to cruise into the event that will last from 10am - 2pm.  I will work on organizing a cruise up to the DAR Thrift Store from Greenville for those who want to cruise that leg of it as well.
• Corvettes For Vets show is on 4/27 in Forest City, NC.  Registration is 8-noon.  There's a meet and greet on Friday night and they have a special rate arrange at the Baymont Inn & Suites if you'd like to attend that as well.  I'll work on getting out the rest of the details but it's a lot to include in this email.
• Fountain Inn Theater cruise will on 4/20.  It will be a cruise to Fountain Inn, then dinner, and then a show.  More details to come.
• The May event will be a wine and/or beer tasting and/or trip.  Brenda is head organizer but is looking for volunteers to help plan so let her know if you'd like to help out with that.  Date to be announced.
• The June event will be a lake excursion day and Don and Ann's place.  Date to be announced.
• Note: The NCCC convention will be in Bowling Green, KY this year during the week of 6/24.  Johnny & Debbie plan on going so if you going and would like to cruise together or meet up there then check with them.
• Note:  The NCCC convention will be in Savannah next year so even closer and a great opportunity to go.
