Minutes of May 10 , 2011 Meeting
Meeting was held at Travinia’s on Woodruff Road. Following dinner, Blair Collins, President, called the meeting to order.
No minutes were read from the April 12 meeting since no business was conducted due to a scheduling conflict with the meeting room at Travinia’s.
Greg Kyzer gave the Governor’s report. The regional Governor’s meeting was held on April 2nd. The 2012 national Governor’s meeting will be in Indy. NCCC can use the Corvette logo. A car show will be held May 14th in Wilson NC. There will be 21 low speed events in Shelby over Memorial Day weekend.
Debbie Haskell gave the treasurer’s report. There is $xxxx.17 in checking and $xxxx.03 in savings. In addition, $xxxx.00 was just deposited and $xxx was paid for the 2010 banquet held in February.
The Christmas party at Terry and Diane’s was discussed.
The Harrah’s event from April 30th was discussed.
Verne is coordinating an event for Saturday May 14th at Greenville Pickens Speedway.
A go cart track outside of Columbia has been identified as a possible site for holding a club autocross. We are waiting on more information.
Mike Hoven is coordinating an event in June. Louis is coordinating a lake event for July. Greg is coordinating a photo rally in August.
Details of these events will be finalized later.
A discussion was held on the location for the meeting. It was decided to hold the June meeting at Blue Ridge Brewing Company in Greenville.
Johnny gave a report from the national meeting. For 2012 each club gets 10 events. The 2012 convention will be at Bowling Green. Workers at events can get travel points in the same manner as competitors.
