Minutes of May 11, 2010 Meeting

Meeting was held at Travinia’s on Woodruff Road. Following dinner, Blair Collins, President, called the meeting to order.

The following visitor was recognized: Johnny Day

The minutes of the April 13 meeting were read and accepted.

Greg Kyzer gave the Governor’s report. At the national governor’s meeting in February, it was announced that there will be a valve cover race at the national convention. Don and Betty Parks have started a brick fund for Ray Meesseman. There is a possibility of the NCCC starting a time trials program. In the Carolina Region, there is a 14 event low speed weekend scheduled July 3 and 4 at Sanford NC. In the Southeast region, there is an event June 19 and 20 at Shelbyville TN. The Maggie Valley Corvette Show will be May 29 and 30. Possible dates were discussed for the club autocross. Oct 2 and 3, Oct 16 and 17 and Oct 23 and 24 were discussed. The plan is to hold the event at Darlington. The desire is to avoid conflict with the Oct 9 and 10 event in Nashville.

Debbie Haskell gave the treasurer’s report. There is $xxxx.xx in checking and $xxxx.xx in savings. A motion was made to move $1500 from the checking account to the savings account. A vote was taken on the motion and the motion carried.

Discussions were held on the April 29th Greenville Drive game and the Regional Banquet.

The upcoming Bowling Green trip was discussed. Blair will send out an itinerary. The plan is to leave at 7:30 AM on Saturday May 22 at the Cracker Barrel in Anderson. Unveiling of Don’s brick will be on Sunday Morning at 9:00.

Johnny and Debbie will host an event at their home at 2:00 PM on June 12th. The event will be a wine tasting. Everyone attending should bring a couple bottles of wine and a side dish to go with it.

A volunteer is needed for the July club event.
